It is the most expensive car in our range and represents its absolute summit. Every example takes over a hundred hours of hand work: the leather is hand-stitched by craftspeople in Crewe, the wood veneers come from a single trunk so the grain matches across both sides of the cabin, and the knurled controls are turned from solid metal. The grand touring concept is taken literally — cross Europe in a day and arrive rested — thanks to 48-volt air suspension that cancels body roll and almost unreal sound insulation. The plug-in hybrid Speed reaches 782 hp and 335 km/h, but this is not a car to drive at the limit: it is a car to cover distance in. It weighs over two and a half tonnes and is demanding to manoeuvre in town. You buy it when a car stops being transport and becomes an object.
