BMW i5
This is the 5 Series as always — same body, same cabin space, same quality — with an electric motor in place of the engine. Which means it asks nothing of anyone switching from combustion: no 'EV' styling, no strange controls, it drives exactly as you expect. The tax advantage for companies is substantial, and with nearly 600 claimed kilometres it covers business trips without anxiety. The motorway is its natural habitat: almost unnaturally quiet, with suspension that filters everything and some of the most polished driver assistance available. The M60 version turns violent (601 hp, 3.8 seconds), but it remains a car for distance rather than corners. The real limit is the entry price: €72,000 is a lot if the tax break does not apply to you.
